IndianOSS aims at providing Open Source Software in Indian languages. Currently the softwares are available only in Gujarati. The main aim is to remove the language barrier.

The initiative towards reaching benefits of Information Technology to every corner of Indian society !

Our project strives to reach Information and Computer Technology to each and everyone in India. The main reason that computer knowledge and Information Technology is confined to only 10% of Indians is basically the lack of knowledge of english language. Another reason is that the cost of most of softwares, that are not available for free, is even more than the per capita income of an Indian.

Keeping this in mind IndianOSS aims at : -

* Developing Open Source Softwares with local language support.
* Giving local language support for currently available Open Source Softwares.
* Develop L10N related softwares too !

GNOME, KDE & XFCE (Most Popular Desktop Managers), Firefox (Web Browser), Thunderbird & Evolution (An E-mail Client), Openoffice.org (An Office Suit) are currently available in Indic languages.
